How to Make An Easy Apple Crumble (Video)

Apple season is upon us! This is a quick apple crumble recipe that you can throw together after your day of apple picking. You can use any type of apples just make sure you peel and core them first. You can also adjust this recipe to add more or less sugar depending on how sweet you want your crumble. This is best served hot with a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream. Do it. An apple a day.

What You Need for the Filling:

Enough apples to fill up your baking dish

A knife to cut and peel your apples

2 cups of white sugar

2 teaspoons of cinnamon

2 tablespoons of cornstarch

Juice from 1/2 a lemon or an orange

A baking dish

Method for Filling:

1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees

2. Grab a baking dish and peel, cut and core enough apples to fill it

3. Add a 1 1/2 to 2 cups of white sugar to your apples (depending on how sweet you like them)

4. Add about 2 tablespoons of cinnamon to you apples

5.  Add about 2 tablespoons of cornstarch to your apple mixture

6. Squeeze 1/2 of a lemon or an orange into your apples (watch the seeds)

7. Toss to coat, set aside and make topping

What You Need for the Crumble Topping:

1-2 sticks of room temperature butter

2 cups of brown sugar

1-2 cups of old fashioned oats

1 tablespoon of cinnamon

1/2 cup of all purpose flour

Method for the Crumble Topping:

1. Add all of your ingredients into a bowl except for the butter

2. Start with one stick of butter and break it up into the mixture until you have pea sized pieces of butter throughout

3. Pile your topping high onto your filling and pack tightly

4. Put in the oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes
