What the Heck is a Sachet d’Epices? (Video)

Wrap up your favorite herbs and spices in a little sachet d’epices and flavor some soup or stock. The sachet is basically cheesecloth cut into a square and packed with flavor boosters like bay leaf, black peppercorns and some garlic. You can add anything you want to this little bag and tie it up with string and add to your soup or stock for some killer flavor (please remember to remove it before you eat though, okay?)

What you need:

  • Some herbs and spices of your choice (black peppercorns, bay leaf etc)
  • Cheesecloth
  • Butcher’s twine
  • Scissors

How to assemble:

1. Cut a square out of your cheesecloth.

2. Add your fillings.

3. Secure with butcher’s twine like a tea bag.

4. Leave a long piece of twine to tie to the handle of your stock pot so you can easily remove it.

Done!
