June 7th Egg Rolls & Egg Cream Festival –now with Empanadas!

Egg rolls, egg cream, and empanadas –oh my! It’s time for the 15th annual Egg Rolls & Egg Cream Festival, and this year things have expanded to include everyone’s favorite Puerto Rican treat. Hosted by the Museum at Eldridge Street, this Sunday, June 7, from noon to 4pm, come on down to the Lower East Side to experience the best of what the neighborhood has to offer. This yearly festival celebrates the unique cultural blend of Jewish and Chinese culture on the LES, and this year has expanded to include the Puerto Rican community as well.

There will be music, games, even Yiddish, Mandarin, and Spanish language lessons. And of course, there will be food –food, glorious food! Try all the egg rolls, egg creams, and empanadas you can fit in your tummy (and fyi, everything’s kosher, too), all while listening to plena music, learning Hebrew scribal art, playing mah jongg, and much more. There will also be a tour of the Eldridge Street synagogue, a National Historic Landmark.
