This Thursday evening, June 18, on the High Line there will be comedy, storytelling, and best of all, pie! Join hosts Maeve Higgins and Jon Ronson for an evening of good laughs and good eats while listening to stories, stand-up, and more from some of New York’s funniest folks.
Here’s the low-down on the storytellers: Elna Baker is a writer and comedic storyteller who has appeared on This American Life, Prairie Home Companion, The Moth Radio Hour, All Things Considered, and more. The Kitchen Sisters are the producers of NPR’s award-winning Hidden Kitchens, Lost & Found Sound, and The Hidden World of Girls (hosted by Tina Fey). Suzanne Wasserman is an award-winning filmmaker and historian. She is currently the director of the Gotham Center for New York City History at the City University of New York Graduate Center. Hasan Minhaj, a comedian, actor, and writer is the newest correspondent for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. His web series The Truth with Hasan Minhaj has been featured on The Huffington Post, Gawker, and New York Times.
The event is free and runs from 8-9pm.
