Steps

We have a way to make your watermelon Jell-O shots look like real watermelon slices! You won’t believe how cool this is and how drunk and excited your friends will be after they have these. This recipe calls for using a real watermelon and scraping out the inside of it and using the rind as the holder for your shot. You have to pretty much scrape out the entire melon and refill it with a red Jell-O. Save that awesome watermelon and eat it or make some sorbet! When picking the flavor of your watermelon shots just keep in mind that the actual watermelon flavor comes out bright pink so you may want to make cherry flavored shots if you want that bright red color.

1. Take the watermelon and cut it in half lengthwise.

2. Take your knife and cut around the edges (as if to cut all the red watermelon away from the rind and make a large rind-bowl).

3. Using a large spoon, scoop out all of the watermelon (be sure to use the watermelon for something!).

4. Take all of the gelatin (yes, all 8 packages from inside the two boxes) and all of the Jell-O and add them to a bowl.

5. Pour boiling water into the mixture of powders and then whisk it together until it is all dissolved.

6. Add your vodka (or whatever liquor you want) to the mixture.

7. Fill up the watermelon “bowls” we created with the mixture until they are almost full (leave some room at the top so it doesn’t spill in the fridge).

8. Put them in the fridge for 4 hours or until they set.

9. When set, remove from the fridge and slice into sections (and optionally slice those sections into smaller sections if you want).
