Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich really bring Italy to New York in this amazing restaurant. They’ve been open since the summer of 1998 and the food is absolutely amazing. They import most of their key ingredients from Italy such as sea salt, olive oil, Parmigiano Reggiano and balsamic vinegar because these items are so important in creating that amazing Italian meal. You can count on Babbo to bring you a simple, delicious Italian meal every time. They also celebrate New York and use local, fresh ingredients as well. I had the mint love letters with spicy lamb sausage and the goose liver ravioli both blew me away. This may be one of my favorite restaurants in New York. The general consensus is that you will always get an amazing meal here and each dish will bring you right back to that summer trip to Italy. I would recommend a reservation so call early because key time slots fill up quickly. I didn’t have a reservation, but I had a small party so I just walked in and I scored a spot at the bar. Don’t live on the edge like me make a reservation.
