How To Make Wontons (with Guest Chef, Jenny Wang)

You know wontons, those delicious little dumpling-esque things in the soup from your favorite Chinese delivery place. I’d be willing to bet you’ve looked at them in wonderment trying to figure out how to fold them at least once. Well, since Jenny Wang stopped by, I figured I might as well solve that mystery once and for all. From her mom’s wonton filling recipe, to how to fold them and cook them properly, she covers it all.

Mrs. Wang’s Wonton Filling Recipe

Minced Pork – 1 lb
Chives – ¼ cup
Kikkoman Soy Sauce – ¼ cup
Sugar – 1 tbsp
Cooking wine – 1 tsp
Sesame oil – ½ tsp
Egg – 1
Tapioca Starch – 2 tbsp

1. Mix all together.

2. Spoon into wonton wrappers and fold up.

3. Drop in boiling water to cook for about 10 minutes.

Optional ingredients
Shrimp, or any vegetable you like – 0.5 lb
Shitake Mushroom – 4-5 pieces
Salt – 0.5 tsp
