What the truck? Put your running shoes on to catch up to the Cinnamon Snail Truck in Manhattan. Yeah, yeah we know it’s a vegan/vegetarian food truck, but even if you are a meat eater you will appreciate this awesome food. Not kidding. This truck has quickly become America’s favorite vegetarian food truck and here is why: They won the 2012 Vendy Awards and the 2013 Hero Vendy Award for feeding victims of super storm Sandy. Not only do they have a good heart, but their food is good for your heart. They have awesome meatless sandwiches and burgers. One burger you have to try is “The Ancho Chili Seitan” burger. What the hell is seitan?! No, it’s not the devil, it’s actually a wheat gluten that takes on the texture of meat and is widely used in vegetarian restaurants as a meat substitute. This seitan burger is made with beer simmered onions and garlic, arugula, piri piri pepper sauce, and horseradish cream on a grilled herb focaccia. It’s damn good. They also offer raw pizzas, raw salads, organic drinks and vegan, gluten-free baked goods.

Speaking of baked goods, if you like doughnuts, Cinnamon Snail truck has won many awards for their vegan doughnuts (if you don’t like doughnuts, then you’re weird). The award-winning doughnut is the crème brûlée doughnut with a bourbon cream filling. It’s no joke. It’s sick good. This truck is usually quickly on the move (despite its name), so you may have to chase it around a bit to get your fill of this vegetarian, four-wheeled, culinary cruiser. They do daily Facebook and Twitter posts about their location for the day so you can run out for breakfast or lunch and grab a burger or doughnut and get back to work.

I went and tried this actually and as a meat eating foodie, I have to say, I loved it! Get the burger with the spicy kimchi, and in your mind, think of it as more of a veggie sandwich and less of a “burger” and it’ll be even better.
