How to Steam an Egg (Video)

Want a cool and different brunch/breakfast idea? Steaming an egg is so easy and you can use fun heat proof containers to do these in and serve them to your guests. Trust us, people love this cute little technique and so will you. Give this a try, full steam ahead (we had to)!

What You Need

  • Mugs or any heat proof containers
  • A pot
  • Some tin foil
  • 2 inches of water
  • Eggs

How to Make

  1. Add two inches of water to a pot.
  2. Spray your mug or containers with cooking spray or add a little butter.
  3. Crack your eggs into your containers/mugs.
  4. Cover the mug or containers with tinfoil.
  5. Set the mugs into your water and turn the heat on high.
  6. Let the eggs steam about 8-10 minutes depending on how runny you want the yolk.
  7. Remove mugs from the water and remove tin foil, season, and serve!

This is great if you do it in a tea-cup and serve little toasts and a tea-spoon along side. The ladies love it.
