As spring winds down and that real summer heat starts to set in, why not skedaddle your butt out to the Hamptons and check out Montauk’s newest restaurant/lounge/fun-in-the-sun spot, Harbor. Open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday, and lunch on the weekends, Harbor will serve up the best tastes of summer, with dishes featuring fresh caught fish, fritto misto, and wood-fired pizza. Executive Chef Roy Wohlars (formerly of Ruschmeyer’s) has whipped up a menu featuring the likes of Wild Black Sea Bass Crudo, Shrimp Wood-fired Pizza, Lobster Rolls, and Flat-Iron Steak with Grilled Ramps and Chimichurri.
Inspired by the Australian beach parties of his youth, owner James “Jamo” Willis –professional party thrower the world over –has set out to recreate the feeling of a laid-back Australian beach party, complete with live music and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine. During the day, hang on the private beach, play bocce or ping pong, and enjoy lunch with a delicious summery cocktail. Then, when the sun sets, join the beach party for some old school dance jams. On the weekend, there will be a number of events, including beach volleyball, movie screenings, and Saturday afternoon grill-outs.
Harbor also has a Greek takeout stand, cutely named Booby Trap, where you can grab a quick flatbread wrap, burger, or salad, along with freshly pressed juices and Victoria coffee. Open from 12pm-5am, you’ll definitely have snack options to sustain yourself while dancing the night away to some sweet 80’s tunes.
