Just as the Keurig enables us to roll out of bed and click to brew a cup of coffee in the morning, this new appliance will allow us to come home from work and click to concoct a carefully-crafted cocktail.
Bartesian is cocktails, on demand.
Invented by cofounders Bryan Fedorak and Jason Neeval, Bartesian creates cocktails at the push of a button using flavor capsules. The machine only requires that you add the basic spirits — gin, tequila, rum, and vodka — into the containers from which the alcohol is drawn. Bartesian recommends the appropriate glassware and even let’s you choose the strength of your selected drink: virgin, light, regular, or strong (we’re hoping for an extra strength option on version 2.0).
As of now, though, Bartesian is still only in its fundraising stage with Kickstarter and their launch menu is set to include 3 classic and 3 signature cocktails: Margarita, Sex on the Beach, Cosmopolitan, Bartesian Breeze, Uptown Rocks, and Zest Martini. But they’ve already got Mai Tais, Long Island Ice Teas, and White Russians on the future drink list, which is open to suggestions, I might add.
Bartesian claims to craft cocktails with the precision of a seasoned bartender. The flavor capsules are made with real, premium ingredients: premium bitters, real fruit juice, and non-alcoholic liquid, which condense a would-be complex, ingredient-rich cocktail into one tiny, recyclable pod. And founders Fedorak and Neeval knew to pay respect to the iconic cocktail shaker too, including one with each Bartesian order. So all you want-to-be mixologists can appear like a pro at your next pool party and shake it till you make it.
