If you’ve ever seen Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern on the Travel Channel and thought to yourself, “I’d really like to try that freakishly disgusting food he just ate myself, but there’s no map of where to find out if they’re near me! Oh the humanity!”, then you’re in luck! I’ve put together (painstakingly, mind you) a map of all the locations Andrew has ever visited. Here you’ll find the Geoduck clam he ate at Jewel Bako in NoHo, the Beef Tongue Sandwich at Carnegie Deli near The Park, and all the other places across the country should you so desire.
If you’ve never seen the show, the premise is relatively simple. Andrew Zimmern travels the world in search of foods that Americans might find, um, disgusting really (he also provides a lovable host that connects with the people of these places by eating their food, but that’s a psych paper for another day). Some of the food isn’t too bad (like what I mentioned above), and some is, well, bugs and rotten fish. In all of the show though, besides maybe a few things like the Durian fruit (fruit that smells like gym socks, yum!), he eats it all without even a hint of disgust. So it can’t be that bad, right? Right??
If you’re feeling brave and want to see what the foods he eats are all about, check out the map below, have fun, and do let us know, in gross detail, if you try anything from this map. Thanks!
